RSD Community/Parent Task Force Meetings

Participate in RSD Superintendent John White’s 100-day planning process.

Superintendent White has convened four task forces to host public meetings across the city for parents, students, educators and community members. The public Community Task Force meeting will be Tuesday, August 2 from 6-8 p.m. at Andrew H. Wilson Charter School (3617 General Pershing Ave).  Spread the word, and please RSVP by clicking here.

As in upcoming Parent Task Force public meetings, community members will participate in group discussions around key questions, like “What can the RSD superintendent do to increase student achievement?” or “What inequities exist in the schools and how should they be addressed?”

Two public Parent Task Force meetings also are scheduled: Wednesday, Aug. 10 from 6-8 p.m. at Langston Hughes (3519 Trafalgar St) and Saturday, Aug. 13 from 9-11 a.m. at the Dryades YMCA (2220 Oretha Castle Haley Blvd). A limited children activity area will be provided at the parent meetings. Click here to fill out the online parent member survey.

The comment period for the Community Task Force is the same as the comment period for the Parent Task Force. It will be held from July 13 to July 27, and the comments will be used to set the agenda for the public meetings. Community members can submit comments in several ways:

  • Comment boxes have been placed at several locations around the city to collect written comments in response to five key questions.
  • Community members can submit electronic responses to five key questions through the online survey. Click here to go to the online survey.
  • Community members may call the RSD 100-Days Comment Line at 504-373-6200, ext. 20117 to record their comments.
