TEST Water Disruption Tues Aug 18 – Lower-Than-Normal Pressure for West Bank

From SWBNO: “Test Water Closure on 36-inch Water Main on General De Gaulle Dr at Indiana St; Lower-than-Normal Water Pressure Expected

On Tuesday, August 18th, 2026, Sewerage and Water Board of New Orleans (SWBNO) contractor, Boh Bros, will be performing a TEST closure which will temporarily disrupt your water services to facilitate water valve repairs.

While no customers will lose water service entirely, residents across the Westbank will experience lower-than-normal water pressure.

WHEN: Tuesday August 18th, 2026, from 9:00AM – 11:00AM

WHERE: Entire West Bank will experience lower-than-normal water pressure

When water is restored, run your faucets for 5 minutes to flush out the lines before resuming regular use.

If water is not restored within one hour after end time, please contact us at the email/phone number below.

Gauges will be placed and monitored by a SWBNO crew during the water valve closure. The procedure will be aborted, and the closure opened immediately if there are any unacceptable pressure losses during the closure or if any pressure gauge readings fall to 30psi.

If you are outside of the expected impact area and experience low or no water pressure to report a water or sewer emergency anytime – call 504-52-WATER, choose your language option and press 1 for emergency.

We appreciate your patience as we work to improve your water system. QUESTIONS: Sewerage & Water Board Community Outreach
