Evacuteer is a community-focused non-profit here in New Orleans, and our Evacuteers are neighbors helping neighbors. Each year for hurricane season, we work to empower the community to train with us so that if we are activated, our volunteers are ready to help people register at their local Evacuspots and at the bus station for processing.
Our Evacuteers are asked to serve (1) 7-hour shift, and you’ll be finished by the time contraflow opens!
We have 2 upcoming trainings in August in Algiers and would like to invite you to attend.

Details:
Annually, we recruit, train, and manage 500 active citizen volunteers who provide vital assistance in the event of a mandatory evacuation to more than 35,000 of our fellow New Orleans residents without the means to self-evacuate. We volunteer at the 17 neighborhood pick-up points (Evacuspots), the Union Passenger Terminal in the CBD, and the 311 Call Center in City Hall.
Topics discussed at the training include:
Evacuee flow during the CAE
Registration at the Evacuspots
Evacuteer roles at the Union Passenger Terminal
Evacuteer roles at the NOLA 311 Call Center
Evacuteer roles during re-entry into the city
We hope to see you there!
