2018 Algiers Fest ∙ Saturday∙ October 6
New Orleans, La. – Algiers Development District AND Algiers Development Corporation, are pleased to present the Fourth Annual Algiers Fest on Saturday, October 6, 2018. This event celebrating our military, and our community, takes place at Federal City in Algiers from 11:00 am to 7:00 pm. The family-friendly festival is free and open to the public and will feature live music, food trucks, drinks, and an array of children’s activities for all ages.
“The military has been part of our history in New Orleans for over a hundred years. Algiers Fest is the only festival in New Orleans honoring our military on an annual basis. Our teams at New Orleans Riverside at Federal City take great pride in inviting the community of Greater New Orleans to share with us in celebrating our military community on October 6, 2018.” said Kathy Lynn Honaker, Executive Director for the organizations who run the Festival.
To honor the military, there will be hourly raffle giveaways to active duty military personnel. The music kicks off at 11am and continues until 7:00 p.m., with DJ Kenny Martinez entertaining between sets. See below for the full lineup:

Community Forum on Climate and Equity, Thursday, Oct. 11
District C Algiers Residents are encouraged to attend a free community forum on climate change on Thursday, Oct. 11, 2018, at 6 p.m. The Community Forum on Climate & Equity is part of a joint endeavor between the City of New Orleans, Greater New Orleans Foundation, Deep South Center for Environmental Justice and Gulf Coast Center for Law & Policy to develop city-wide solutions to address climate change and learn about work being done to improve conditions in our neighborhoods.
