District C to Host 3rd Annual Crawfish Boil on May 24th at Federal City Green Space

Councilman Freddie King III is proud to announce the 3rd Annual District C Crawfish Boil, set to take place on May 24th, 2023, from 11:00 AM to 3:00 PM at the Federal City Green Space, located at 2500 General Meyer Avenue, New Orleans. This beloved community event promises a day filled with delicious food, lively entertainment, and vibrant camaraderie among residents.

The Crawfish Boil has become a cherished tradition in District C, bringing together families, friends, and neighbors to celebrate the rich culture and culinary heritage of New Orleans. This year, attendees can look forward to a mouthwatering selection of freshly boiled crawfish. 

“We are excited to bring our community together for the 3rd Annual Crawfish Boil,” said Councilman Freddie King III. “This event not only showcases our local cuisine but also fosters a sense of unity and pride within District C. It is an opportunity for everyone to come together, enjoy great food, and celebrate our vibrant culture.” 

Adding to the festive atmosphere, the event will feature special guest DJ Jubilee, known for his infectious energy and unique blend of New Orleans bounce music. Attendees can expect a lively performance that will have everyone dancing and celebrating throughout the evening. 

Community members are encouraged to bring their friends and family to this free event.

Algiers Community Meeting on Parks and Playgrounds – Tuesday, April 29, 6:00pm

Join your Algiers neighbors at this community meeting hosted by the Algiers Neighborhood Presidents Council (ANPC). The location is the Federal City Auditorium, 2485 Guadalcanal Street in Federal City.

Guests will include Larry Barbarino, the CEO of NORD-C to discuss our playgrounds, sports and recreation facilities and Lex Kelso with Parks for All (The Big Green Easy). Councilmember Freddie King will join us to update us on improvements – including the new Natatorium (indoor pool) at Morris FX Jeff park and to answer your questions as well.

There will also be a presentation on the history, current status and possible future of both Brechtel Park and the former Brechtel Golf Course.
